This is an update on the future of the exam centre, following our blog post of 1st April.

With regret we have to announce that the NSWLearning exam centre will close after the May-June 2020 exam session. We worked hard to find another individual or organisation able to take on the exam centre, but without success. Ultimately, the exam board’s requirement that the exam centre had to have a staffed office for the whole of the year, along with expensive insurance requirements meant that it was not viable for others to take over the exam centre.

NSWLearning made an important announcement on 1st April 2019 about the future of our exam centre. You can read this announcement by visiting our Blog.

Whether you have a child studying with NSWLearning or you are simply looking for an exam centre you have come to the right place. At NSW, we are committed to providing support for home educating families – our exam centre is one of the ways that we try to help.

We aim to keep our fees as low as possible, and we do not require parents to assist in invigilation. We are ideally located midway between Sheffield and Chesterfield and our local railway station is no more than 100 metres away from our building.

Key features of the NorthStarWorldwide exam centre:
•  Open to all home educated students and others – whether they study with NSW or not
•  Low costs and a simple fee structure
•  Small exam centre – candidates sitting exams with no more than 16 others in the same room
•  All staff are DBS checked
